Meet Our Youth

Please meet just a handful of the disadvantaged young people with whom we have worked in the past. Each of our Youthincers has a personal story and often they make us realise how lucky we have been! They generally don't want sympathy, just a job and a chance to realise their potential!

Meet...
Michael


- He was a foster child with no family support
- He left school in Year 10
- Michael is a quiet & shy person

Michael needed a mentor that would build his confidence.

Work: He was suitable for 'back of house' roles in retail or food services and had limited experience in catering

Moira


- She left school at 15
- Lived independently

Moira had a ‘goth’ look that was very deceiving as this young lady has personality to burn! 

Work:  Moira was looking for a career in creative industries. She had worked in retail positions but was unemployed for more than a year

Ryan


- Smart as a whip with a dry sense of humour
- Ryan was the primary carer for his father who has a disability.

Ryan was living an isolated existence & needed a positive role model. 

Work:  He was well suited to technical work or anything with game design or computers

Dylan


- Has 76 tattoos
- Dylan was very intelligent with a warm heart

Dylan has 76 tattoos but what you see is NOT what you get. 

Work:  Dylan wanted something solid & regular in warehouse or labouring roles. He had labouring experience

Nat


- He was intelligent & articulate
- Nat had an exceptional eye for detail

Nat played Street Soccer World Cup for homeless youth (2008) despite anxiety issues & a hearing deficit in one ear

Work:  Nat would flourish in administration or a call centre

Mamady


- Natural & easygoing personality  
- Originally from Liberia, speaks French (with good grasp of English)

Mamady played
 midfield in his soccer team

Work:  Mamady would be a great team player in a retail environment of some sort

Samantha


- Samantha had a really bubbly personality. 
- She left school at the end of Year 10 and so far had limited opportunities with work

Samantha would one day like to become a vet nurse

Work:  Samantha  had some qualifications in retail operations

Beau


- Hard working and passionate
- Beau was a potential Paralympian as he lost his lower leg in a car accident 3 years ago (he is fully mobile)

Beau aspired to become a personal trainer working in rehab  

Work:  Would benefit from a part-time job to support future studies. He has retail experience
